Technology executive, board director, and investor.
Twenty-five years at the operational center of open source, infrastructure, and security.
I am CEO of ActiveState, where we help enterprises secure the open source software their development teams depend on. Before ActiveState I led the Cloud Foundry Foundation as CEO and served as CTO at Puppet, operating at the center of open source and enterprise infrastructure through the shifts that defined cloud-native computing. I write and speak on software supply chain security, open source governance, and the risks created by AI-generated code. The throughline of my work is a single observation: organizations adopt new infrastructure faster than they build the governance to secure it, and closing that gap is an organizational problem, not a tooling one.
